Writing your next chapter
Please don't try this at home. Recently I signed up for an eight-week poetry class that went from mid-November through Christmas Eve.
Three days later, it hit me: Poetry is not my forte. Half the time, I don't even understand it. Not to mention, poetry is often about the past.
So instead of writing rhyme and verse, I decided instead to write my future – or at least influence it. There are so many better ways I can invest those eight weeks – and set myself up for the best possible start to 2026.
What about you?
As of today, there are 65 days left in 2025, or just over nine weeks. What could you accomplish or experience in that time that would make you look back with absolute joy? Or victory?
Achieving this will probably mean saying no to other things. That's okay. One of the gifts of getting older: You get to be more selective about how you invest your time, and who you share it with. No explanations needed.
“The past doesn't equal your future, unless you live there.”
