Whatever you get done today

I'm here to tell you it's enough. And while that may sound obvious, so many of us end each day with that sense of, "I should have accomplished more."

What if instead of lamenting what did not get done, you made a list – even a mental list – of what did? If you do this enough times, you'll start to get a clear picture of what you value – and it will help you optimize your days, going forward.

Example: Often when I find it hard to tackle big projects, it's because at least one other part of my life feels disorganized or unresolved. This happened just recently after I got back from a weekend getaway.

Yes, I felt refreshed from the three nights in Austin. I also felt crabby and overwhelmed at not being able to focus.

This continued until I turned my attention from what I "should" get done toward all those little things I wanted to get done. It worked. More focus, less stress.

You know you're on the right track when a particular thought, decision or action lets you breathe more deeply.

Trust your instincts. They'll lead you to accomplish each day what matters most. And it will be enough.
