Showing up

Nothing clears the mind like a good old-fashioned change of scenery. On a recent overnight getaway, I wrote on the hotel notepad, "There's no substitute for showing up for yourself."

So what does that look like? Maybe setting an alarm to go to bed. Putting your phone on Do Not Disturb. Taking yourself for a walk. Admitting to your loved ones when you need a break. Or just taking one.

Showing up for yourself means getting your needs met in ways only you can. It's actually kind of fun. Figure out what you need this week to be at your best. Then give yourself permission to go after it.
