Ready, aim, aim?
Beware the organization whose response to a burning building is to form a committee. Likewise, when there's something you really need or want, don't wait till everything is perfect before making a move.
I almost did that with this blog. Because I'd been so out of practice, I thought about signing up for a 10-week blog-writing class. Thankfully, it didn't start till August.
This is when impatience can be your friend.
Instead of waiting, I simply sat down one night and started: researching blogging platforms, choosing one, signing up, and writing my first post.
In between those steps were DNS records, redirects, domain transfers – all things I knew nothing about. No dinner that night until about 10 pm. But it's been worth it.
On my shelf is the book A Sense of Urgency by John P. Kotter. One memorable line: "Move and win – now."
Where would it feel good for you to move (and win) now? Take the first step.
