Good tired
I keep coming back to Harry Chapin's track, "My Grandfather." If you haven't heard it, I think you'll really enjoy it.
Harry describes the difference between a life of desperation and a life of fulfillment – also known as bad tired and good tired.
Lately I have felt the good tired Chapin speaks of. This is no small gift. Between grieving various losses and keeping my parents safe as they age in place, it's something I haven't felt for a while.
But tonight, although I am good tired, I'm also just tired. Ever feel that way? As a friend of mine would say, "Congratulations. You're human."
Take a break when you need one. Even better, before you need one. There is only one you – and you could never be replaced.
Side note: My blogging platform isn't letting me schedule this ahead, as I had planned. So I'll publish it now and plan to reconnect with you on Monday!
